Billy D / Willy / BD / Bill / William

Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, Billy D graduated from design school and spent the next 30 years as an award-winning filmmaker, working artist, and strategic planning and communications consultant. In 1990, he and Laura founded one of the first new-media design studios, in Jackson, Wyoming. He went on to build and run an international toy distribution company based out of South China, overseeing production and selling products around the world.

A skilled skier and snowboarder, his filmmaking took him deep into the mountains, working both sides of the camera from helicopters and snow cats. From Great Lakes wreck diving to paragliding, he has spent a lifetime drawn to the edge. He has raced nearly every kind of bike there is, and has been married to fine artist Laura Donavan for 35 years. They raised two sons who are now thriving adults.

In 2023, Billy went through the most significant personal transformation of his life. What emerged was clarity, self-awareness, and an unmistakable pull toward coaching. What he had always done naturally could now become the work itself.

That is what he does now. He brings decades of strategic thinking, a creative background across design and film, and a genuine depth of personal experience to every conversation. People leave those conversations different than when they arrived.
